Google has rolled out a new set of dedicated [Generative AI Performance Reports](https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2026/06/gen-ai-performance-reports) in Search Console, giving site owners their first purpose-built view into how their content appears within AI-powered features like AI Overviews and AI Mode.

The announcement, made on June 3, 2026, marks a significant step toward helping SEOs and webmasters understand their visibility in an increasingly AI-driven search landscape.

## What’s New in Search Console

Until now, data from generative AI features was bundled into the overall performance report. The new reports create a standalone view specifically for impressions driven by generative AI features on both Search and Discover.

The reports surface the following data points:

- **Impressions** — How often URLs from your site appeared within AI features in Search and Discover.
- **Pages** — Which specific URLs were shown inside AI-powered results.
- **Countries** — A geographic breakdown of your AI visibility.
- **Devices** — The devices users were on when your content appeared (available for Search results only).
- **Dates** — Performance tracked at hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly granularity.

## Rolling Out Gradually

Google is not making this available to all publishers at once. The reports are currently being tested with a subset of websites, with broader availability expected once the initial feedback phase is complete.

This phased rollout mirrors how Google has handled other major Search Console features and is designed to allow thorough testing before a wider release.

## Why This Matters for SEOs

The launch of these reports signals that Google recognizes AI Overviews and AI Mode as distinct traffic channels — not just extensions of standard organic search. For SEOs, this is an important acknowledgment: visibility in generative AI features now deserves its own measurement framework.

With zero-click behavior already reshaping how organic impressions translate to clicks, having dedicated data on AI feature appearances helps practitioners better evaluate content performance beyond traditional ranking signals.

### What Should You Do Now?

If you have access to the new reports, head to your Search Console account and look for the dedicated Generative AI performance section. Compare your AI feature impression trends against your overall organic performance to understand whether your content is gaining or losing ground in AI-driven placements.

If the reports are not yet visible in your account, your site may not be in the initial test cohort. Google has confirmed that wider availability is on the roadmap.

You can also submit feedback directly from within Search Console using the dedicated feedback form tied to the new reports, or via the [Google Search Central Community](https://support.google.com/webmasters/community?hl=en).
