If ChatGPT quadruples or quintuples in size over the next few years, it might reach the level of Yahoo\u2019s search traffic. But even then, it would still be a niche player compared to Google.<\/p>\n<p>To put things in perspective, even long-established search engines like Bing, Yahoo, and DuckDuckGo hold only a fraction of Google\u2019s market share. If those platforms have struggled to gain ground over decades, AI-powered search tools have an uphill battle ahead.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"googles-growth-speaks-volumes\"><\/span><b>Google\u2019s Growth Speaks Volumes<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Perhaps the most compelling evidence against the \u201cAI is killing Google\u201d theory? <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stanventures.com\/news\/how-americans-really-use-google-the-data-may-surprise-you-2134\/\">Google is actually growing\u2014fast<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>From 2023 to 2024, Google\u2019s search volume jumped by 21.6%\u2014its biggest surge since the pandemic. The average user is now conducting 125 searches per year, up from 103 the previous year<\/p>\n<p>And here\u2019s the twist. Google\u2019s AI-powered features, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stanventures.com\/news\/how-ai-overviews-ai-featured-snippets-are-transforming-search-results-1796\/\">AI Overviews<\/a>, appear to boost engagement instead of deterring users.
