Google has rolled out an update to Search Live powered by Gemini 2.5 Flash Native Audio, bringing more natural-sounding voice conversations to its AI-powered search experience and reinforcing voice as a central way people interact with Search.<\/b><\/p>\n

Google is <\/span>updating<\/span><\/a> how voice works inside <\/span>Search Live<\/span><\/a>, aiming to make spoken interactions smoother and more conversational.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The upgrade, which is rolling out this week in the United States, uses Gemini 2.5 Flash Native Audio to improve how Search responds when users speak instead of type.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the update, users can hold real back-and-forth conversations in <\/span>AI Mode<\/span><\/a>, ask follow-up questions without repeating themselves, and hear responses that sound less mechanical.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Google says voice answers can also be slowed down when users need clear, step-by-step explanations, such as during instructional searches.<\/span><\/p>\n
