The whole launch fit in a single Anthropic post. Open the plus menu in the Claude desktop app, pick Record a Skill inside the Cowork workspace, then work through a task on screen while explaining the steps out loud. When the recording stops, Claude processes the demo into a structured skill and files it in a library. Next time the task comes up, the skill runs instead of a fresh prompt.
That last part is the point. Until now, building a custom skill meant hand-writing a structured instruction file with metadata and step-by-step logic. Recording replaces authoring. Do the work once, and the documentation writes itself.

If a task can be captured start to finish in one recording with zero judgment calls, the recording did not create the risk. It exposed how automatable the task already was.
