How Clean Links Doubled a Medical Site’s Google Authority

CHB-Medical-Billing-Website

CHBMD Billing had a deep library of expert billing content but an authority profile stuck in the teens. Six months of clean, niche-aware link building from Stan Ventures changed that.

  • 16 Clean DR 30+ referring domains added (dofollow, no spam)
  • DR 33 Domain Rating, more than doubled from 15 to 33
  • 845 Top-10 keyword rankings, up from 375
  • 5,200+ Peak monthly organic visits, from ~1,830

About The Client

CHBMD Billing is a medical billing services provider with one of the more thorough educational resource hubs in its space. The site publishes detailed, genuinely useful guides on CPT codes, place-of-service codes, revenue cycle management, and specialty billing for fields like mental and behavioral health. This is exactly the kind of expert, intent-matching content that should rank well in a YMYL niche where Google leans hard on trust and expertise.

The content was doing its job up to a point. The site already held a respectable base of rankings when it came aboard. But it had clearly hit a ceiling, and the reason was not the content. It was the authority profile underneath it. For a topic area tied to healthcare and money, that missing trust signal was the single biggest thing holding the library back.

The Challenge

When CHBMD Billing joined Stan Ventures in January 2026, its Domain Rating had been sitting between 11 and 16 for months. Referring domains were flat and even drifting slightly downward, sliding from the mid-150s in January toward the high-120s by spring as older links dropped off faster than new ones arrived. In a medical niche, that is a precarious place to be. Competitors with stronger profiles were better positioned to win the exact terms CHBMD’s guides were written for.

The rankings reflected the squeeze. A large share of the site’s keywords were parked on page two and deeper, with more than 200 terms sitting beyond position 50. The content existed, it was indexed, and it simply was not being trusted enough to surface where it counted.

The Approach

Clean Links, Built to Pass Real Trust

The program was deliberately quality-first. Rather than flood the profile with volume, Stan Ventures focused on earning a tight set of authoritative, editorially legitimate referring domains and made sure every one of them actually passed authority.

1. DR 30+ Only
Every domain highlighted here is rated DR 30 or above, with high-authority placements reaching DR 82, DR 77, and DR 72.

2. Dofollow and Clean
Anything nofollow, sponsored, or flagged as spam was excluded from the count. These are authority-passing links, not padding.

3. Niche-Aware
Placements included genuinely relevant sources such as pabau.com and clinicalgate.com, reinforcing topical trust in the medical space.

4. Naturally Paced
Links were earned steadily across the engagement so the profile recovered and then grew at a believable, sustainable rhythm.

The Results

The Link Profile Recovered, Then Took Off

The drift reversed and then accelerated. Referring domains climbed from the high-120s in spring to 302 by early June, and Domain Rating more than doubled, jumping from the mid-teens to 33 as the new links were discovered and indexed. The authority base the content had been missing was finally in place.

Organic Traffic Climbed to a May Peak

With the authority signal in place, the content started ranking where it deserved to. Monthly organic traffic climbed from around 1,830 visits at onboarding to a peak of 5,243 in May, nearly three times where it started. The estimated value of that organic traffic rose alongside it, from roughly $8,500 to more than $12,000 a month.

Page-Two Content Moved Onto Page One

The ranking distribution tells the clearest story. Comparing the onboarding month to today, Top 4-to-10 placements more than tripled, from 187 to 578, and total Top-10 rankings grew from 375 to 845. Just as telling, the pile of keywords stuck beyond position 50 nearly vanished, collapsing from over 200 to a handful as those terms climbed into contention.

The Money Terms Climbed Into the Top 10

The lift was not limited to easy long-tail phrases. High-volume code lookups and commercial service terms, including searches a billing company actively wants to be found for, broke onto page one. “Behavioral health billing services” is a standout: a $16.85 cost-per-click service term that moved from position 70 all the way to 6.

Medical-Billing-keyword-Data

The expertise was already on the page. What CHBMD Billing lacked was the authority to be trusted on it. A tight set of clean, relevant links more than doubled Domain Rating and turned a stalled content library into page-one rankings.

An Honest Note on Attribution

  • All figures are pulled from live Ahrefs data for chbmdbilling.com across the October 2025 to June 2026 window.
  • The 16 referring domains shown are filtered to DR 30+, dofollow, and live, with anything spam, nofollow, or sponsored excluded. Total referring domains across the whole profile reached 302 over the same period.
  • Link building was the catalyst, not the only factor. The site’s existing depth of expert billing content was essential. The links supplied the trust signal that let that content finally rank.
  • The sharp Domain Rating step in mid-May reflects the timing of link discovery and indexing, consistent with the referring-domain growth in the same weeks.
